Dykes Cottage and the Shop, Winterbourne Dauntsey

The sign above the eaves of the shop reads “N Milhench”. Nora Milhench kept the shop between July 1948 and Christmas 1949 [1]. The tall lime tree is just coming into leaf, which places the old photograph in the spring-time of 1949. The tree was felled in about 1973 [2]. The shop closed at the end of November 2019 and the building is now an office.
